New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Chhattisgarh on November 1 to mark 25 years since the state’s formation and inaugurate several landmark projects, including the new Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly building in Nava Raipur and India’s first digital museum dedicated to tribal freedom fighters.
The grand new Vidhan Sabha, constructed at a cost of Rs 324 crore over 51 acres, represents a fusion of traditional Chhattisgarhi art and modern architecture. Its design reflects the state’s cultural roots, featuring motifs of rice grains and leaves on the assembly ceiling and handcrafted wooden interiors by Bastar artisans. The eco-friendly structure is equipped with solar power, rainwater harvesting systems, and provisions for paperless proceedings, symbolizing Chhattisgarh’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
The complex includes a 500-seat auditorium, a 100-seat Central Hall, and separate wings for the assembly secretariat, the Speaker and Chief Minister’s offices, and ministerial chambers. A statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, under whose leadership Chhattisgarh was formed in 2000, stands at the entrance as a tribute to his vision.
During his visit, PM Modi will also unveil the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum, built at a cost of Rs 50 crore across 10 acres. The museum celebrates the courage of tribal heroes like Veer Narayan Singh, the first martyr of Chhattisgarh’s freedom struggle, and chronicles major uprisings such as the Halba Rebellion, Bhumkal Movement, and Jungle Satyagraha. Using VFX, digital projections, and interactive installations, the museum offers an immersive experience that connects visitors to the state’s rich tribal heritage.
The Prime Minister will also launch development projects worth over Rs 14,260 crore spanning roads, power, healthcare, and industry. These include five new government medical colleges, new power substations, industrial parks, and housing support for 3 lakh beneficiaries. His visit will conclude with the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav, celebrating the state’s journey from its formation in 2000 to its emergence as a growing hub of culture, progress, and self-reliance.
