PONDA: Ponda MLA and Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik, PMC Chairperson Ritesh Naik, GSUDA officials, engineers today inspected Ponda Market shed.
During the inspection the vendors conducting business in Ponda Market shed put forth their several grievances including damaged roof sheets of the market shed due to which every vendors are forced to use plastics to protect from rain from broken roof sheets market.
The vendors also brought to the notice of the Minister and Chairperson that for the past one month, the main entrance pathway to Ponda Market Shed has been blocked on digging for the final phase of work for the ramp to complete the construction work of the new Market Complex.
Due to blocking the entrance and pathway, they have no customers and face losses.
Chairperson Ritesh Naik assured the vendors to repair the market shed and replace the roof sheet. He also promised them to open their blocked pathway due to the final phase work of the market complex by discussing with GSUDA officials.
Ritesh Naik also promised to construct a shed for vendors conducting business on open at the mezzanine floor behind the market complex.
Minister Ravi Naik suggested that to auction the shops in Market Complex, the Deposit Money, which is fixed at Rs one lakh, should be reduced so that people will come forward to buy those shops.
