PONDA: The Ponda Municipal Council today held a special council meeting chaired by Chairperson Shantaram Colvekar to discuss the draft Outline Development Plan( ODP) 2030 for Ponda City and recommend modification be incorporated into it.
Officials of the South Goa Planning and Development Authority were present with the draft ODP.
Later, after the meeting, Chairperson Shantaram Colvekar said that as Per the SGPDA instruction meeting, we were to send our suggestion in draft ODP for Ponda City.
The PMC also proposed a new 15-meter width road from Zareshwar, at Ponda Bus Stand to Kapileshwarim bypass road alongside the main nullah, which will help reduce the flow in City main road.
Since Ponda Taluka faces a shortage of parking spaces, it was decided to propose multilevel parking at three places in Ponda City, namely in front of the Court building, PMC land located near Ponda Municipal Building also multi-level parking at the parking space of Rajiv Kala Mandir.
All this will be incorporated in Draft ODP and, after notification, will be displayed in PMC for public suggestions giving sixty days time.
