PADOCEM: Mohammad Akhtar Alam (35), a resident of Podoshe, Sattari, and originally from Bihar, was injured near Karapur Tisk junction, Shriram Nagar, Podocem, on September 20 at around 7:30 PM. Initial reports suggested a gunshot injury, but Valpoi Police later clarified that he was struck by an unknown object, possibly thrown negligently by an unidentified person.
According to Alam’s complaint, he heard a loud noise resembling an electric short circuit. When he turned to see, an object hit him on the right side of his neck, causing bleeding. He was initially taken to CHC Sankhalim for treatment and later referred to GMC Bambolim.
Eyewitnesses stated that three people were sitting nearby when the incident occurred and heard a loud noise similar to an electric spark. However, they did not see anyone in the vicinity, and nearby residents also reported hearing nothing unusual.
Valpoi Police have registered a case under CR No. 55/2025 u/sec 125, 118 BNS 2023. The motive behind the incident is currently unknown, and further investigation is ongoing.
