VERNA: Verna police have on Wednesday evening registered an offence against Anthony Braganza, panch member of Verna panchayat, on charges of criminal trespass and assault.
Sources in Verna police said that one 17-year-old Tyron Gop filed a complaint against the panch member at the police station.
“The complainant said that on Wednesday evening, the accused panch member Anthony Braganza criminally Trespassed into his property and demolished the Temporary Shed/ Chicken Shop and damaged items lying in the Chicken shop, causing a loss of around Rs. 5,00,000. The accused panch member further assaulted and threatened his neighbour Loren Marie Alfonso and stole wooden tables and locks amounting to Rs. 5,000,” said the source.
Verna police have registered an offence against the accused panch Anthony Braganza under sections 447, 427, 379, 323, 506(ii) IPC.
PSI Sanket Talkar of the Verna police is carrying out a further investigation under the supervision of PI Diago Gracias and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
