PANJIM: Days after a house party organised at a villa in Arpora raised questionmark on police negligence, thr Director General of Police (DGP) Mukesh Kumar Meena said that Police will crackdown on the participants and organisers of night parties amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meena said that due to various restrictions imposed due to pandemic, there is decline in overall crime in the State.
“There are many restrictions. Some people have the habit of violating law. Those who participate or organise these parties or those who break restrictions, we will act against them,” Meena said.
On Sunday, a house party organised by a Russian woman at a villa at Arpora turned in a brawl with a local gang.
Further DGP said that with restrictions like social distancing, isolation and curfew, the overall crime rate has declined. “Police are involved in multiple duties like patrolling, monitoring of containment zones, checks on borders, etc. And also close watch on criminal activities are been kept,” he maintained.
Meena also raised concern about large number of police, on frontline duty testing positive for infection.
