Valpoi: With Ganesh Chaturthi festivities set to begin, police officials have appealed to Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandals in Sattari taluka to strictly follow safety guidelines and ensure smooth conduct of programs without inconvenience to the public.
In a special meeting held with the office bearers of Valpoi, Keri, and Thane Ganeshotsav Mandals, Police Inspector Videsh Shirodkar stressed that special care must be taken to avoid traffic congestion, overcrowding, and any incidents that could hurt public sentiments. “It is important to celebrate Ganeshotsav with enthusiasm but also responsibly. Public safety must remain a top priority,” Shirodkar said, assuring full cooperation from the police.
He further advised that Mandals should, if possible, install CCTV cameras at venues to strengthen security and ensure effective monitoring.
Representatives including Dharmendra Salunkhe and Lokesh Velingkar (Valpoi Ganeshotsav Mandal), Uttam Gaonkar (Thane Ganeshotsav Mandal), and members of the Keri Public Ganeshotsav Mandal were present. The office bearers assured police officials that they would strictly adhere to guidelines and work in coordination with law enforcement.
This year, the Valpoi Ganeshotsav Mandal will celebrate the festival for 11 days, while the Thane and Keri Mandals will hold celebrations for 9 days
