It has been nearly two months now, and there has been no clue in the Siddhi Naik death case. The police have been clueless in the case till now.
The Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant, had said that he is personally monitoring the case. What happened to your personal monitoring of Mr CM? Or are you too busy with the political drama and elections and welcoming your bosses that you do not have concern our daughters, such as Siddhi Naik?
The CM said that he is personally monitoring the case as he has a daughter. Mr CM once agreed with you that a politician may fail his voters, but a father will never. Sir, in this Siddhi Naik case, you failed the daughters of Goa.
In the last two months, there have been several promises by the political parties, aspirant candidates and the government itself announcing freebies in the form of free water, free electricity and employment.
Agreed, this selection time and the politicians will have to do what they have to, but what about our protection?
How have the politicians forgotten the heart-wrenching cases like the Siddhi Naik death case, the Benaulim rape case, a tuition teacher raping a seven-year-old? The list goes on, but there is no word from the government or any political party.
Does the protection of our mother, daughter, sister not the priority for any political party?

We also agreed with you that the daughters or teens should stay home at night, but you took it as a precedent and continued to ignore all crimes against women.
We are just not blaming the Chief Minister here; it is the same for every politician.
Why not Digambar Kamat, Girish Chodankar, Vijai Sardesai, Rohan Khaunte all come on the streets to demand justice for Siddhi Naik and other daughters of Goa?
Goa was known as one of the safest places for women in Goa, but today it has become like Delhi, UP, Bihar and many more states in India, where women face heinous crimes every day.
I would not even spare Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal here. The next time he is here, along with your guarantees of free power and employment, you should also speak on women’s safety and demand justice for Siddhi Naik.
Congress leader P. Chidambaram has been in Goa three times now but hasn’t spoken about rising crimes against women in Goa.
When the Opposition leader fails to talk on the issue, what can we expect from a ruling leader like Devendra Fadnavis? He would always have a justification for whatever his government did. That is his job, isn’t it?
While the politicians would do what they do the best, “make false promises”, we, the Goans, need to take a call. We need to demand the safety of our women. We need Goa of yesteryears when the women felt safe moving out even at night.
This election, it is time for us Goans to make Goa secure demand justice from the politicians to our daughters like Siddhi Naik.
Yes, employment is very important, but we can do without freebies like water and electricity. We are not handicapped to not afford a power and water bill, right? But what is essential above this is the safety of one and all.
Jai Hind…Jai Goa…
