PONDA: After tense situation in three meetings with farmers alleging scam by Marcaim Bar Amre Khajan Tenant Association finally today Ponda Mamlatdar Vinod Dalal attended the meeting following which Ad-hoc Committee for six month is elected.
Earlier on 8 January Ponda Mamlatdar had dissolved old committee following farmers alleging scam to the tune of several crores.
The farmers had earlier rejected to elect new committee chaired by official from Mamlatdar Office on 23 January stating that unless their committee submitt audited fInancial statement they will not elect new committee.
However Ponda Mamlatdar urged them to elect committee to look after administration and maintenance of Bandhara work.
The new three member Committee is headed by Mangaldas Gaude as Chairman, Premanand Gaude as secretary and Amardeep Marcaikar as Treasurer.
The audited statement of old committee was presented in meeting,however farmers demanded re audit through government auditor.
In six month time the accounts of the association would be audited under guidance of Mamlatdar and Adhock Committee and there after incase scam vigilance inquiry would be conducted incase there are scams said Premanand Gaude member of Adhock Committee.
The Mamlatdar also told that Rs ten lakh has been sanctioned for repairs of Bandhara.
It may be recalled that following breach in Bandhara the entire field of 25 lakh square metres was submerged under water following which farmers blamed old committee for failure to repair breach in Bandhara and since than they had also demanding audited statment of accounts for past six years from the old Committee.
Around 600 farmers cultivate the land with bandhara of almost 3.5 km need to maintain for protection of field.
