PANJIM: Ponda Police ASI and Constable were attacked by unknown persons during a narcotics raid at Curti inquiry late night on Monday.
ASI Jitendra Gaude suffered 40 stitches after unknown culprits attacked him with alcohol bottles while Constable Jaywant Bharu suffered minor injuries.
As per reliable information, the police raided a shop with the information that a person was dealing in drug. However during the raid there was a scuffle between the accused and police.
Soon after the incidents the group of unknown fled the spot. Police have detained two suspects while the investigation is on to nab the remaining culprits.
