Ponda: Police have booked a woman for allegedly forging a No Objection Certificate (NOC) on the letterhead of the Ponda Municipal Council to obtain electricity and water connections for her residence.
According to police, the complaint was lodged by Ponda Municipal Council Chief Officer Suyash Khandeparkar, who alleged that before August 6, 2025, the accused, identified as Alphia Menezes E Rego of Silvanagar, Ponda, prepared the forged NOC purportedly signed by municipal engineer Uday Desai.
The document was allegedly submitted to the concerned authorities to secure the utility connections in her name. The case is being investigated by PSI Ashish Velip of Ponda Police Station.
