PANAJI: Eight of the eleven road segments that needed urgent repairs will have their repairs finished in 15 days, the State government told the Bombay High Court in Goa.
Asserting that the state’s Smart City construction was subpar, Advocate General Devidas Pangam said at the Public Interest Litigation hearing that the ongoing repairs will improve the roads’ motorability.
“The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) is responsible for two of these road segments, while seven will be subject to rubble soling,” he stated. Following this, the Division Bench of Justices M. S. Karnik and Valmiki Menezes ordered the CCP to provide a comprehensive report by Friday.
In its written response to the court, the government stated that as a temporary measure, “rubble soling” with Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) on top will be installed along the road that runs perpendicular to Hotel Manvin and from the intersection of Salcette Pharmacy to Hindu Pharmacy (Cunha Rivara Road). Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) will handle the project.
