Local artists Pradeep Padgaonkar and Betty Alvares were felicitated in Saligao at the hands of MLA Kedar Naik in the presence of Tiatr Stalwart Prince Jacob.
Star Events and One Team, One Dream under the initiative of Pradeep (Dipy) Sawant are celebrating Xmas and New Year in Saligao. Noxibantlem, a Tiatr show by Price Jacob and his team was staged on the occasion. Felicitation program was held during the interval of the Tiatr.
Pradeep Padgaonkar and Betty Alvares were honoured for their contribution in the field of Art and Culture. Speaking on the occasion Prof Dilip Dhargalkar recalled Pradeep Padgaonkar’s Lakshay Haay Haay serial telecast on a local TV Channel. “Dattu Appa had captured the heart of Goans”, said Prof. Dhargalkar. He was honoured for his contribution to electronic media. Betty Alvares has performed in hundreds of Tiatrs. She has performed on the Konkani Tiatr stage for decades and worked under most of the renowned directors.
MLA Kedar Naik honoured both celebrities and appreciated their work. He also thanked the organisers for their different activities and programs.
“People don’t see how much one has earned through his performance on the stage. It is the time, days given to the stage, said Prince Jacob.
Saligao Sarpanch Lucas Remedial also spoke on the occasion. Deputy Sarpanch Utkarsha Kudnekar, Panch Members Dayanand Mandrekar, Anil Parulekar, Ramadas Konadkar were present.
