Panaji: A seven-member delegation of the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI), Goa Chapter, led by its President Deepak Narvekar, called on the Governor of Goa, Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapati Raju at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula, yesterday.
Other members who accompanied the President were Waman Prabhu, Nikhil Wagh, Anant Joshi, John Aguiar, Smt. Kalika Bapat, and Shri R. Britto.
During the interaction, the PRCI office-bearers briefed the Governor on their current projects, challenges, and future plans. The meeting was specially convened to update the Governor on the activities undertaken by the Goa Chapter over the past year. These initiatives are focused on strengthening and uniting PR professionals in the state, while also seeking the Government of Goa’s support for building more effective, transparent, and trust-based communication with the people.
The delegation also apprised the Governor about the recent felicitations of prominent journalists in Goa conducted by the Chapter.
The PRCI Goa Chapter had earlier met the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, who expressed his support for the Council and its efforts in advancing the profession of public relations in the state.
On this occasion, the Governor was invited to be the Chief Guest at the 19th Global Communication Conclave, to be held on September 26th and 27th at Hotel Fern Kadamba Hotel and Spa, organized by the Public Relations Council of India.
The theme of the conclave is “Power of PR: Emerging Waves of Communication.” The event will highlight the evolving role of public relations in a digital-first world through fireside chats, panel discussions, and networking opportunities with industry leaders.
The Governor was also informed that the conclave will explore how public relations continues to shape conversations and build meaningful connections in today’s digital environment.
