CURCHOREM: The members of Sanvordem Local House of Society of Pilar (Pilar Fathers) organized a Christmas celebration, “Prerna”, at Guardian Angel Institute hall, Curchorem, on Tuesday.
Conveying the Christmas message as a Chief Guest, the Governor of Goa, P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, said that Christmas is celebrated with the family and is considered one of the message-giving times. “Jesus’ life is dedicated to most of the downtrodden people, and the incumbent Pope Francis also adopted such a thing giving importance to the downtrodden and poor people. He lived a simple and austere lifestyle by using minimum facilities, and this allows kindness and dedication to the needy, and through that, we are getting satisfaction and enjoyment with God. This may be, therefore, introspection for all God-fearing people to become dearer to God and through that way, we get Flourishment in life and peace in the family”.
Later he interacted with the priests during the high tea party hoisted in honour of Governor Pillai, where the Guest of Honour PWD and Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral and Vicar-General of Society of Pilar Fr. Steevan D’Souza, Chairman of Xaverian Educational Society Fr. Mateus Fernandes, Local Superior Fr. Romeo D’Silva, Fr. Jerry Vaz and Assistant Parish Priest of Guardian Angel church Fr. Jovier Baretto was present besides the former GPCC President Girish Chodankar.
Students from the Science section of Guardian Angel Higher Secondary School, Curchorem, performed a special Malayalam carol which was appreciated by all.
