DELHI: President Droupadi Murmu held a special session at Rashtrapati Bhavan with eminent tribal leaders from across India to discuss policies and initiatives aimed at empowering tribal communities.
The meeting was organized under the ‘Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan’ of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
From Goa, Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, MLAs Ganesh Gaonkar, Prabhakar Gaonkar, Mohan Gaonkar, Savita Tawadkar, Ajay Gaude, and Anthony Barbosa attended the session.
During the interaction, President Murmu emphasized the importance of preserving the rich cultural heritage, traditional knowledge, and lifestyle of tribal communities, which are deeply connected to nature.
She stated that tribal communities should be supported to actively participate in the nation’s development journey with dignity and respect.
The session highlighted collaborative efforts to formulate effective policies ensuring sustainable growth and empowerment for tribal populations across the country.
