Panaji: Priority Titans and CD Fountainhead delivered commanding performances to secure convincing victories in the league matches of the GSB Unity Cup 3.0 cricket tournament played at the MCC Ground in Margao on Saturday. Both matches featured aggressive batting displays supported by effective bowling efforts as the teams asserted their dominance.
In the opening match, Priority Titans defeated Vimson Panjim Powerplay by 45 runs after posting an imposing total. Batting first, the Titans piled up 209 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Yash Prabhugaonkar led the charge with a blistering 50 off just 19 balls, setting the tone for the innings. Sahil Mandrekar provided solid support with a well played 48 from 27 deliveries, while Anish Mahambre contributed a valuable 31 to help the team cross the 200 run mark.
In response, Vimson Panjim Powerplay struggled to keep pace with the required run rate and were bowled out for 164 in 16.3 overs. Captain Sidhit Raiturkar produced an explosive knock of 51 off only 16 balls to keep his side in contention, while Siddhant Amonkar added 30 runs. However, the Titans bowlers maintained steady pressure. Rajat Dalal was the standout performer with three wickets, while Yash Prabhugaonkar supported with two wickets to seal the victory.
The second match saw CD Fountainhead register a dominant 100 run win over Madgaon Royals CC. Batting first, Fountainhead posted 215 all out in 19.2 overs. Atchut Naik Dalal played a rapid innings of 51 off 19 balls, while captain Pranav Biche anchored the innings with a composed 50 from 29 deliveries. Aditya Prabhugaonkar added a useful 25 to strengthen the total.
Chasing a challenging target of 216, Madgaon Royals CC found it difficult to build partnerships and were eventually bowled out for 115 in 18.4 overs. Gaurish Prabhudesai top scored with 34 runs and Neelay Naik Dalal added 21.
The Fountainhead bowlers shared the wickets, with Sankalp Bhat, Manish Kakode and Vikrant Prabhu claiming two wickets each to guide their side to a comprehensive victory.
