DAPOT: A 27-year-old professor, Suchita Bandekar, lost her life in a tragic road accident at Dapot-Loliem on Wednesday morning after a Karnataka-registered car allegedly drove on the wrong side and crashed into her scooter.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Bandekar was on her way to college. The car, coming from the opposite direction, is said to have veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with her two-wheeler, causing severe injuries.
Local residents rushed to assist the victim and arranged to shift her for medical treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries, leaving the academic community and locals shocked.
Police reached the spot and conducted a panchanama. The damaged vehicles were later removed from the road to restore traffic. Authorities have begun an inquiry into the circumstances leading to the accident and are verifying details of the Karnataka-registered vehicle and its driver.
