PANAJI: The District Magistrate, North Goa, has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 around the Goa Assembly Complex at Porvorim and within the jurisdiction of Panaji Police Station in view of the upcoming Eleventh Session of the Eighth Legislative Assembly, scheduled for September 25.
The order bans the assembly of five or more persons, processions, carrying of firearms or offensive weapons, use of loudspeakers, sloganeering, and burning of fire within a 500-meter radius of the Assembly Complex and nearby areas.
Exemptions have been made for public servants on duty, bona fide marriage and funeral processions, and other genuine occasions with prior permission.
The restrictions will come into effect from 10:00 am on September 25 and remain in force until the Assembly session concludes.
