Panaji: Aam Aadmi Party today asked Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to come out of announcement mode to think of the aged and differently abled people in Goa who have not been receiving any dole for more than six months.
AAP Prasad Shahapurkar pointed out that the senior citizens and disabled people from Goa have not received the dole they were receiving since August 2020 which is six months and wondered how these people are managing particularly in these times of pandemic.
He pointed out that in AAP Govt in Delhi had in fact increased the dole given to senior citizens while the BJP in Goa is not even given what was assured and pointed out that the chief minister is offering packages to panchayats instead of catering to the needs of the needy people of Goa.
AAP leader Patricia Fernandes said,”Offering the incentive of Rs. 50 lakhs to panchayats is nothing but a political gimmick aimed at attracting votes for the assembly elections due next year,” She said asked the chief minister to first attend to the elderly and sick and disabled Goans.
While pointing out to the increasing inflation and vegetable prices, Patricia said that it is getting impossible for women to manage the daily family expenses, non payment of pensions has added to salt to our wounds. It is time that CM Sawant should wake up and understand the pain of Goans.
