PANAJI: Professional boxing in Goa continues to gain momentum, with Susegado Strike reinforcing its position as a platform dedicated to competitive excellence and fighter development. With a clear focus on meaningful matchups and long term growth, the promotion is steadily shaping a professional boxing culture that places athletes and quality bouts at the centre of its vision.
This commitment was highlighted at a press conference held at the YMCA Conference Hall in Panaji, where Susegado Strike Fight Night 4 Anniversary Edition was officially announced. The event brought together co founders Prathamesh Naik, Luigson Fernandes, and Clyde Lobo, along with Goan boxers Kailas Gauns and Prahlad Panda, who are set to headline championship contests.
The fight night is scheduled for December 20, 2025, beginning at 6.30 pm at the International Centre Goa in Dona Paula. The card features multiple high profile contests, including two IBC National Title bouts that underline Goa’s rising presence on the professional boxing circuit. Kailas Gauns will compete for the Super Fly Men’s National Title in a 10 round clash against Vanlalenkawltira, while Prahlad Panda will face Vinod Vanteddu in a 10 round Featherweight National Title bout. Another major contest will see Midhun A take on Mohammed Dilshad in a 10 round Middleweight championship fight.
The undercard also promises competitive action across divisions. Scheduled bouts include Akanksha Singh versus Lakshmi M Gireesh in the Super Fly Women’s category, Asad Asif Khan against Ashish Kumar in Super Feather Men, Gazal Maria Mathew versus Raj Sahiba in Super Welter Women’s, and a Heavyweight bout between Arshdeep Singh Batth and Shijo Shaji. Official weigh ins will be held on December 19 at Fitness Bar in Panaji.
Speaking about the broader vision, the promoters outlined plans to build a sustainable professional boxing ecosystem in Goa by creating consistent opportunities for local fighters. The goal is to expand the state’s professional boxing pool to at least 25 athletes within the next two years, providing them with national exposure and structured earnings.
Boxers Kailas Gauns and Prahlad Panda shared insights into their transition from amateur to professional boxing, highlighting the increased physical demands, tactical preparation, and mental discipline required. They credited the platform for supporting their development through planning, exposure, and professional guidance.
As Susegado Strike marks one year of operations, the focus remains firmly on empowering fighters and delivering high quality bouts, with the aim of firmly establishing professional boxing as a major sport in Goa.
