MANDREM: Mandrem Police have registered an Unnatural Death case (UD No. 52/2025) under Section 194 of the BNSS after a Pune-based tourist was found unconscious in the washroom of a beach resort and later declared brought dead at District Hospital, Mapusa. Police said they received a call from the hospital on Sunday, following which LPSI Archana Sharma and staff visited the casualty ward and were informed by the on-duty police that the deceased, Naveed Shaikh, 40, son of Naseer Ahmed Shaikh and a resident of Kondhwa Khurd, Pune, had been brought in by his friends. Enquiry revealed that Naveed had travelled to Goa with friends and was found lying unconscious inside the washroom of Oceano Beach Resort. He was shifted to District Hospital, Mapusa, where doctors declared him brought dead. Mandrem PI was briefed, a wireless message was issued to PCR Panjim/Porvorim, and the SDM Pernem was informed. Further enquiry is underway.
