ANJUNA: In a swift joint operation, North Goa police apprehended Punjab murder case accused Vishnu Bishnoi (32), a resident of Rajasthan, along with six associates from a hotel in Anjuna on Tuesday.
According to police, information was received from Punjab Police that Bishnoi—wanted in multiple cases including murder (FIR No. 162/2025 at Abohar, Fazilka district) and under the Arms Act—was hiding in Goa. Punjab authorities sought the assistance of Goa Police to intercept him.
Acting on the request, Superintendent of Police (North) Rahul Gupta, under the supervision of DIG Range Smt. Varsha Sharma, constituted a 20-member team from the Mapusa subdivision. The operation, led by PI Nikhil Palekar (Mapusa PS) and PSI Swapnil Naik (Anjuna PS), tracked Bishnoi to a hotel in Anjuna, where he was staying with six others.
While Bishnoi was taken into custody and handed over to the Punjab State Crime Police, the six companions were released after their involvement in the case was not established, officials said.
Police described the operation as “well-planned and executed.”
