Porvorim: Two players from Goa have been selected for the South Zone women’s cricket team that will compete in the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal Multi Day Trophy scheduled to be held in Puducherry from March 20 to April 3, 2026.
The announcement was made by the Goa Cricket Association, which confirmed that cricketers Purvaja Verlekar and Poorva Bhaidkar have been selected to represent the South Zone side in the prestigious domestic tournament.
In addition to the two players, Goa will also have representation in the team’s support staff. Salma Divkar has been appointed as the trainer for the South Zone squad.
The Senior Women’s Inter Zonal Multi Day Trophy brings together top cricketers from across different zones of the country, offering a platform for players to showcase their skills in the longer format of the game.
The Goa Cricket Association congratulated the players and the support staff member on their selection and wished them success in the upcoming tournament.
