PANAJI: The Public Works Department (PWD) has directed its concerned sub-division office to commence the rectification work at Kala Academy, following the recommendations of the Task Force Committee. According to the department’s instructions, the contractor will be required to rectify any issues related to works or parts that were included in the original scope of the project.
In cases where the recommended work falls outside the original tender, the necessary specifications and measurements will be provided by the consultant appointed by the Task Force. This step is crucial to ensuring that the rectification work is in line with the Task Force’s recommendations, which were presented after a thorough review.
A letter issued by the department also highlights the need to verify whether the recommended items were part of the original tender or if they are new works suggested by the experts. If these items were part of the original scope but have not been executed correctly or if sub-standard materials were used, the contractor will be obligated to rectify or replace them.
For any new works, a separate estimate will need to be prepared, and detailed specifications and measurements will be provided by the consultants assigned by the Task Force. The PWD has requested that these facts be checked on an urgent basis to ensure swift implementation of the necessary rectifications.
