MARGAO: In a major boost to the city’s urban development, PWD Minister and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat on Wednesday inaugurated a series of crucial public infrastructure projects aimed at upgrading connectivity and modernising key market hubs.
Kamat launched the construction of a new promenade linking the rear section of the Margao Railway Station to the Power House Circle junction. The project is expected to significantly improve pedestrian access and streamline connectivity in the busy transit zone.
At the Margao Municipal Market, the minister unveiled several improvement works, including the laying of new pipelines, installation of a fire-hydrant system, extensive repair and maintenance upgrades, and Galvulim sheet roofing. He also formally kicked off the refurbishment of the Gandhi Market under the MLA LAD Scheme.
The initiatives mark a substantial step toward enhancing public convenience, strengthening market infrastructure and improving the overall civic environment for residents, vendors and visitors across Margao.
