Panaji: Higher-round action gathered momentum at the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026 on Thursday, with several quarter-final and semi-final slots decided across multiple categories as competition intensified at the Gaspar Dias and Gymkhana courts.
In the men’s singles quarter-finals, Ashwin Narsinghani produced a composed display to defeat Prathamesh Patil 4–0, 4–2 and move into the semi-finals. Parth Deorukhakar also booked his place in the last four after a solid 4–2, 4–2 win over Maaz Khan. Eshaan Khadeer continued his strong run, advancing to the semi-finals with a convincing win over Nishad Shevde. Earlier in the tournament, Maaz Khan had defeated Paul Singh 6–2, while Eshaan Khadeer overcame Harren A by the same scoreline.
The men’s doubles quarter-finals saw Maaz Khan and Arnav Bansode progress after defeating the pair of Praneeth V and Suraj. Paul Singh and Nilesh also advanced, getting the better of Atharv Paranjpe and Sonu Todu. At the Gymkhana courts, Ashwin Narsinghani teamed up with Prathamesh Patil to register a dominant 6–0 win over Vihaan and Devaansh to seal a semi-final berth.
In the women’s singles category, Nidi secured her place in the final with a confident win over Trisha in the semi-final encounter.
The under-16 boys’ category delivered a series of competitive matches, with players such as Fatha Ali, Arav, Ethan, Ayush, Shaurya and Athrva recording notable victories across venues. The girls’ under-16 section was equally engaging, as Gargi, Bhavya, Kimberly, Tvisha and others advanced with emphatic wins in their respective matches.
Mixed doubles and women’s doubles matches added further excitement to the day, with several one-sided results alongside closely fought encounters that highlighted the depth of talent on display.
Jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group in association with the Goa State Tennis Association, the tournament has attracted a record 555 entries across the Masters and Open segments. With the decisive rounds approaching, the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026 continues to deliver high-quality tennis and competitive intensity across all categories.
