FATORDA: Fatorda Police initiated an Unnatural Death enquiry on Sunday morning after a middle-aged man was found lying unresponsive near Chatrapati Hotel, opposite the KTC bus stand in Margao. Police received a call at around 9:00 am from ASI Dilkhush Velip of Margao Town Police Station, following which a team visited the spot and found a male aged between 40 and 45 years lying in an open area. The individual was shifted to South Goa District Hospital by 108 emergency services, where doctors declared him brought dead. Local inquiry revealed the deceased to be Shiva Verlekar of Quepem, who was reportedly often seen loitering near the KTC bus stand and was frequently under the influence of alcohol. The body has been preserved at SGDH for medico-legal procedures. Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Satvashil Devidas of Fatorda Police Station.
