QUEPEM: The rain fury in South Goa has been such that even there was no place to cremate or take the the dead body.
The road from Gudi Paroda to Karali from Margao to Quepem has been completely submerged, disrupting public life in Paroda.
As the roads in Paroda were flooded, Gajanan Padiyar’s dead body could not be taken to Margao for cremation.
The dead body was brought to Karali from Paroda in a special boat under the guidance of Damodar Jambavalikar, the Fire station in charge of Curchorem Fire and was later cremated at Margao Cemetery.
The dead body remained in the house for a long time without cremation due to floods. Sanguem MLA Subhash Faldesai whose residence is at Karali took note of it and called the Fire brigade.
Firemen rushed to the flood-affected area where the dead body was kept and with the help of rescue boats they evacuated the dead body from the house.
