PANAJI: Indian Meteorological Centre (IMD) Goa Unit has forecasted rainfall/thundershower activity across the state till March 26.
“In continuation of previous forecasts, rainfall/thundershower activity very likely to continue over North & South Goa up to March 26. Weather warnings for lightning &winds gusting 40-50kmph at isolated places issued for 24th & 25th March,” said IMD
IMD further has forecasted that the spatial distribution of rainfall is likely to be higher on 24 and 25 March.
“No weather warnings for the district on 26th, 27th & 28th March 2022. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and winds gusting to 40-50 km/h very likely at isolated places on 24th & 25th March 2022. No weather warnings for the district on 26th, 27th & 28th March 2022,” IMD predicts.
IMD further said that due to the forecast of light rainfall at isolated places from 22nd to 26th March 2022 and increase in humidity, farmers are advised to take up control measures against blight and leaf folder in rabi paddy
“Possibility of cloud to ground lightning, Fall of weak trees and weak structures, Possibility of localized traffic congestions. Localized disruption to municipal services (water, electricity, etc.) due to lightning or winds,” IMD said.
IMD has advised the public to stay hydrated on heatwaves, schedule frequent breaks, avoid sunburn, and be alert to signs of heat-related illness.
