Panaji: The spirit of generosity will once again shine bright as Raising Light 2025 Illuminating Lives with Every Flame returns for its sixth edition on November 5 at Bottle Bay, Baga. Blending fashion, music, and community spirit, the event promises an unforgettable evening dedicated to kindness, compassion, and collective giving.
Conceived by Bottle Bay owner Ninil D’Souza, Raising Light has grown into one of Goa’s most cherished charity events, bringing people together to celebrate the power of giving. What began as a small initiative to promote compassion has evolved into a grand annual celebration that supports the National Association for the Blind (NAB) and other community organisations.
Unlike traditional fundraisers, Raising Light turns philanthropy into a vibrant evening featuring a charity fashion show, live performances, a gala dinner, and entertainment. The event brings together Goa’s entrepreneurs, Rotarians, artists, and changemakers in a celebration of generosity.
“Raising Light has always been about community—people coming together, doing something good, and making a real difference. It’s inspiring to see the circle grow brighter every year,” said D’Souza.
All proceeds from ticket sales and donation coupons will go directly to NAB, which empowers individuals with visual impairments through education and inclusion. NAB Vice Chair and co-founder of Pai Kane Group, Gauri Pai Kane, who has supported the initiative since its inception, said, “This event touches hearts every single time. It’s wonderful to see the community unite for a purpose.”
The evening will feature designer showcases by Monty Sally and COMO, styled by Pallav Ojha, with 45 women walking the runway for charity. “Every candle we light tells a story. When people join hands for something greater than themselves, that’s where real change begins,” said Sally.
This year introduces the Raising Light Awards, honouring organisations that make a meaningful impact across Goa. Each awardee will receive ₹50,000 sponsored by entrepreneur and philanthropist Francis Viegas. The honourees include NAB, Our Lady of Boa Viagem Old Age Home, Matruchhaya Trust-Ponda, ASRO-Tivim, and AASTHA-Mapusa.
“This year, we’re celebrating those who keep the spirit of giving alive. It’s about light, not spotlight,” Viegas said.
Short films highlighting the work of these organisations will be screened during the event, showcasing stories of courage, compassion, and service.
