PANAJI: Leader of Opposition Michael Lobo today hit at TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane, claiming that he was personally targetting him for just being in the opposition.
Lobo also demanded that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant must intervene in the matter.
“I think Vishwajit Rane is gone crazy; he is personally targetting me for just being in the opposition; In my opinion, Rane is misusing his position. I will move to court,” said Lobo.
He further said that he had already complained about the conduct of Vishwajit Rane to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. He has been closing down the restaurants as per his whims and fancies using FDA.
“Rane used government servants as slaves, and he behaves like a king,” he added.
Speaking on his restaurant, Lobo said that his wife cried for the first time as Rane sent FDA officers to his restaurant at Anjuna and stopped customers from entering.
“There is nothing wrong in my restaurant; I will move to court,” said Michael Lobo.
He further said that even in a small state like Goa, we could see vindictive politics against the opposition; this should be stopped.
He further said that this is vindictive politics and that he had explained the entire issue to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, but he was quiet on the subject.
“We are a democratic country, and there are attempts to silence us. Attempts to divert our minds from main issues like unemployment and inflation and instead, we are made to fight among ourselves,’ said Lobo.

Rane says Lobo cannot complain

PANAJI: TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane said that Leader of Opposition Michael Lobo cannot complain when a slew of illegalities are taking place.
“With so many illegalities occurring in the coastal belt, I’d like to emphasise that any illegal structure that has obtained an FDA license by presenting false documents will be cancelled after due process,’ said Rane
He further said that LoP cannot complain when a slew of illegalities are taking place.
“Please stop crying foul; the law will take its course. I would advise you to follow the rule of law, which is applicable to everyone,” he added.
