PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that his government has declared January 22 that is Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya Ram temple as a government holiday.
Sawant was speaking to reporters during the cabinet meeting at Mantralaya today.
“Government has declared January 22 that is Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya Ram temple as a government holiday,” said Sawant.
He further said that holiday is only applicable to government offices and schools and not valid to private sector.
The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, which will mark the installation of the idol of Lord Ram in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, and several other dignitaries.
The construction of the Ram Temple, which began in August 2020 after a Supreme Court verdict, is likely to be completed by 2025.
