PANJIM: Following the rise in number of critical COVID19 cases in State, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Friday disclosed that the state health department is in process of procuring another 1000 vials of Remdesivir and rejected reports of shortage of COVID-related medicine in State.
Goa has received its first consignment that is 30 vials of Remdesivir two days back from Hyderabad.
“Health Department is in the process of procuring the necessary medicines to treat COVID-19. We have already procured 30 vials of Remdesivir which is given to the patient between the 5th and 8th day as per the protocol laid by AIIMS.” Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said
He said, “Health Department has also put in a requisition for 1000 vials of Remdesivir. Health Ministry under the guidance of Secretary Health Nila Mohanan, Dr. Dsa, Dr Bandekar, Dr. Edwin and their respective teams are doing a fantastic job at the forefront.”
Rane has refuted claims and reports in the media claiming there is shortage of Covid related medicines.
“Every patient is given VIP treatment. Our government is committed to serving the people of Goa. Utmost care is being taken at the Covid hospital.” Rane said
Speaking on the health of Cuncolim BJP MLA Clafasio Dias, the health minister informed that he is completely stable and is on assitive medicine.
