Urging the people not to panic, Health Minister Vishwwajit Rane on Friday said that co-morbidities cannot be used as an excuse for mortalities and hence the State is working in direction for the treatment involving experts.
Rane was speaking live on his social media handles during a function organized as the pharmaceutical company Cipla handed over 1008 vials of Remdesivir for treatment of Stage 2 COVID19 patients.
Health minister thanked the company for the gesture as the drug is in short supply throughout the country.
“Cipla handed over 1008 vials of Remdesivir to, which will help in treating 200 patients and I am thankful to Cipla for this gesture,” Rane said.
Rane further urged the people of Goa not be panic as the government is doing its best to tackle COVID19.
“We are revamping our COVID19 hospital with additional experts with support of CM and I know there is rise in fatalities and we are working in that direction how to control that,” he stated.
He said that co-morbidities cannot be used to justify deaths.
“We cannot take as an excuse. We are trying to involve more experts in treating co-morbidities,” he said.
On allegation of better treatment for VIP, Rane said, every persons will be given same treatment as same protocol will be used for everyone.
“We are not just giving paracetamol, there are other drugs like Remdesivir. We are using standardized SOP of the AIIMS,” he said.
