Sanguem: Sanguem Police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving following a road accident involving a car and a motorcycle at Varcotto, Sanguem.
According to the state complaint filed by HC-7210 Anand Gaonkar of Sanguem Police Station, the incident occurred on January 26, 2026. The accused, identified as Rossarrio Rodrigues, a resident of Varcotto, Sanguem, was driving a Ford Fiesta car from Dando towards Cortalim.
Police stated that the accused allegedly drove the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner, endangering human life, and without possessing a valid driving licence, insurance, or pollution certificate. Upon reaching Varcotto, the driver reportedly lost control of the car, swerved to the wrong side of the road, and collided with an oncoming Hero MotoCorp motorcycle.
As a result of the collision, the motorcycle rider, Shailesh Gaonkar, a resident of Vaddem Porteem, Sanguem, along with pillion rider Akshara Velip and excess pillion rider Master Aatish Velip, both residents of Uguem, Sanguem, were thrown onto the road and sustained injuries.
Further investigation in the case is being carried out by HC-7210 Anand Gaonkar of Sanguem Police Station.
