MOLLEM: A police constable posted at the Border Check Post (BCP) Mollem has lodged a complaint after an unidentified driver of a Toyota Innova allegedly sped past the checkpoint on Wednesday, ignoring police signals and endangering his life.
According to the complaint filed by Constable Naguesh Pandharmise of Collem Police Station, the incident occurred on December 4 at around 11:50 am. The Innova, travelling from Anmod towards Mollem, was reportedly driven in a rash and negligent manner.
Despite being signalled to halt for routine checking, the driver allegedly refused to stop and continued at the same speed, heading directly towards the constable, thereby putting him at risk and obstructing a public servant from performing his official duty.
Collem Police have registered the case, and further investigation has been handed over to PSI Vaibhav Jalmi.
