CUNCOLIM: A case of rash and negligent riding has been registered at Cuncolim Police Station based on a state complaint filed by HC-6985 Sandesh Gaonkar.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on January 22, 2026, at around 8.00 pm at Biunsa, Cuncolim. The accused, identified as Brijesh Chari, a resident of Fatorpa, Quepem, was riding a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle from Cuncolim towards Fatorpa in a rash and negligent manner, allegedly endangering human life.
On reaching the village road at Biunsa, Cuncolim, the accused reportedly rode the motorcycle in the wrong lane and collided with a Splendor motorcycle. As a result of the impact, the rider of the Splendor, Ulhas Dessai, a resident of Cuncolim, and the pillion rider, Wilton D’Souza, a resident of Biunsa, along with the motorcycle, fell onto the tar road.
Both Ulhas Dessai and Wilton D’Souza sustained injuries in the accident.
Further investigation in the matter is being carried out by HC-6985 Sandesh Gaonkar of Cuncolim Police Station.
