PONDA: The office bearers of Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh Goa led by its Chairman Madu Naik met Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in the presence of Shiroda MLA Shirodkar and submitted the memorandum on the reservation.
The Mahasangh demanded that the government immediately frame rules for the reservation for OBC, ST, and SC students for PG courses at GMC from the current academic year 2021-22, which commences soon.
This reservation for PG includes 2 per cent for SC, 12 per cent for ST and 27 per cent for OBC.
It was also demanded to extend the date of application for online OBC Scholarship, create OBC council of Ministry in Council of Ministries for Goa State, and create a separate budget head for OBC and 27 per cent budget for other backward communities.
They also demanded a separate OBC census to make available Eklavya Coaching scheme to OBC, SC and EWS.
Besides, various issues are requested to solve. CM Pramod Sawant assured to look into the matter.
