PANAJI: PWD Minister Digambar Kamat assured that the ongoing repair and renovation works at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, will be completed in all respects by October 30.
Kamat conducted an inspection of the main auditorium and the Black Box along with Ravindra Bhavan Chairman Rajendra Talak, Supervisory Panel Chairman Vijai Kenkre, and PWD officials. He said there was unanimous agreement among all stakeholders to finish the works within the deadline and even hold a mock drill ahead of the inauguration. “The contractors have been carrying out the job systematically and with quality. The supervising panel has met twice and everyone recognises the importance of completing the project on schedule,” he said.
The minister emphasised that the venue is a hub for public events and cultural activities attended by thousands, making timely completion essential. He thanked Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for prioritising the project, recalling that urgent directions were issued after the collapse of the false ceiling to begin repairs without waiting for expenditure sanctions.
Supervisory Panel Chairman Vijai Kenkre also expressed satisfaction with the pace of work, stating that with Talak’s close involvement, the contractor, PWD engineers, and workers are focused on ensuring both timely delivery and quality standards.
