MORMUGAO: The episode of raw sewage overflowing on the jetty Vasco road is far from over as the commuters have now expressed dismay over the failure of the PWD (Sewerage) section to resolve the issue.
The sewage overflowing at the Jetty has continued to trouble the commuters, especially the pedestrians and the two-wheeler riders who pass through the main road of the Jetty where the raw sewage water is overflowing from the manhole.
It may be recalled that a month ago, two Manuel labourers had risked their lives and were trapped inside this ma hole for the whole day. After a month also, the PWD Sewerage section failed to trace the seepage of the sewerage line or any other reason behind this overflowing sewage.
A group of workers going to work in the MPT plant said that more than a month has passed whenever there is rainfall, and they have witnessed the manholes at the jetty stretch overflowing.
The pedestrians and the two-wheeler riders have faced the brunt of the sewage water falling on them several times and of the foul smell that the nearby residents are getting from this sewage water. It is high time that the PWD should resolve this issue permanently.
