CANACONA: Amid cabinet reshuffle buzz, Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar says he is ready to take on any role the party assigns to him.
However, in the same breadth he has achieved more people-centric work as Speaker than during his tenure as a Minister. Answering to a specific question that rumor mills are agog on reshuffle speculation involving name of Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar as one of the legislature to be included in reshuffled cabinet, Tawadkar responded saying ‘Ready to accept any role in the cabinet given by my party. All the way I have been an obedient and loyal soldier of the party, ever willing to follow party directives from the time I was a MLA in the opposition. When ruling, I became a minister in 2012, now I am Speaker. In future, whatever responsibility the party is giving I will be honoured. Moreover I am more than happy to say that I could bring more people centric work as a Speaker than in the past as a minister and there is cooperation from all around be it Sarpanch’s , panch’s and party leaders and affiliates.’ Incidentally, later Tawadkar hinted that a number 2 cabinet post or Dy. Chief Minister in the Cabinet would be very ideal for his rank and file, went on to explain that more than himself, his own dedicated Karyakartas wanted him to see him in the cabinet with a better position and rank.
