Panaji: Maina-Curtorim: In a nail-biting semifinal clash, Rebello Pandal Maina secured their spot in the finals of the 18th All Goa Rebello Pandal Football Tournament with a thrilling 7-5 victory over Dragon FC Margao via a tiebreaker at the St. Rita Church ground.
The match was a closely fought contest, with both teams finishing regular time locked at 3-3. Wilson, Francisco, and Cyril found the net for Rebello Pandal Maina, while Velito, Joel, and Rayman scored for Dragon FC in an intense end-to-end battle.
With the score tied at the final whistle, the game moved to a penalty shootout. Rebello Pandal Maina held their nerve and proved to be superior from the spot, sealing their place in the tournament final.
Despite the loss, Dragon FC’s Jordan was awarded the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance. The award was presented by Seby Dias, a well-known local football enthusiast.
