MARGAO: Red Bull of Telaulim defeated St Cross Boys of Davorlim 4-3 via the tiebreaker to emerge champs of the Uprising Trophy interwar football tournament organized by Uprising Boys of Telaulim and played at Govt School playground Telaulim.
Both the teams were tied goalless in the normal time. In the ensuing tiebreaker – Red Bull Telaulim proved to be a better shooter. The winners and runners-up were given 20,000 and 15,000 plus trophies respectively.
Fr Valentine Alvares – Chaplin of OL of Mount Carmel Chapel was the chief guest and handed over the prized in the presence of Fr. Ashley Pires Couthino Laxmikant Kattimani, Climax Lawrence, Micky Rebello, Anthony Pereira, George Barreto, Costa Paul Rodrigues and Sukhdeo Arwade.
Individual Prizes: best forward – Adarsh (Red Bull Telaulim), Best defender – Venito (St Cross Boys Davorlim), the first goal of the final – Noah Luis, (Red Bulls Telaulim) Promising player – Velroy Colaco (St. Cross Davorlim) best midfielder – Veluston Costa, (St.Cross Davorlim) best goalkeeper – Katappa.(Red Bull Telaulim)
