MARGAO: Youth Leader Prabhav Naik paid tributes to proud Madganvkar and acclaimed Cinematographer K. Atish alias Atish Kuncolienkar on his birth anniversary today.
He took an early exit on 8th April 2024. This year happens to be birth centenary of his father & renowned Cinematographer K. Vaikunth. I appeal to Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to honour them with a special tribute during IFFIGoa -2024, stated Youth Leader Prabhav Naik.
Remembering the father-son duo from Kuncolienkar Family in Margao, Prabhav Naik said that both of them brought laurels to Goa with their contribution to Film Industry.
It is the duty of the Government to honour K. Vaikunth who was born on 25th August 1925 in Margao. He won Filmfare Award for Cinematography for the film “Seeta aur Geeta”. He was also good at making potraits. He trained and mentored many filmmakers. His contribution to film industry needs to be recognised, said Prabhav Naik.
K. Atish alias Atish Kuncolienkar made a name for himself for his Cinematography for dance show “Boogie Woogie”. He was also the Cinematographer for popular singing contest “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa”. He was also associated with various films as Cinematographer, Prabhav Naik said.
I hope Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to accept my suggestion and ensure that these two great goans get an appropriate recognition during the upcoming edition of International Film Festival of India, stated Prabhav Naik.
Goa has produced jewels in various forms of art including films, theatre, dance, music, paintings etc. We must remember and celebrate them on their special days, Prabhav Naik said.
