PANAJI: Bihar migrants living in Goa have been encouraged by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to respect the state’s cleanliness, culture, and legacy.
Speaking at a celebration of Bihar Diwas, Sawant emphasised the value of societal peace while highlighting the longstanding link between Goa and Bihar.
“I only request people who migrate to Goa to follow Goa’s culture and heritage; because when a crime takes place, you won’t feel good when people say that a person from Bihar has committed a crime,” Sawant stated.
Sawant further urged them to live in harmony and peace while adhering to the culture. Bihar and Goa have a long-standing friendship.
“Keep Goa clean, even though you’re from Bihar,” he continued.
During the event, Sawant also mentioned that the PM Ayushman Bharat Card, which can be used for health insurance coverage at the Goa Medical College and Hospital, and the ‘One Nation One Ration’ program, which permits ration access in Goa, are two government programs that benefit people from Bihar and the rest of India.
In order to honour the contributions made by the Bihari population in the state, the BJP Goa unit celebrated Bihar Diwas. Sawant further mentioned that December 19 was Goa Day in Bihar.
