BICHOLIM: A 51-year-old cook working at a popular restaurant near Mayem Lake was found dead on Thursday evening, prompting an investigation by Bicholim Police.
According to police, at 8:18 pm, restaurant owner Vishwajeet Ghadi of Mayem Deck Restaurant informed authorities that his cook, Sanjay Tukaram Gaude, a resident of the quarters behind the restaurant and originally from Amboli, Maharashtra, was found lying unresponsive at his residence.
Gaude was immediately shifted to CHC Bicholim, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Police conducted an inquest panchanama over the body, which has since been sent to GMC Bambolim for post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Jayprakash Jankar of Bicholim Police Station.
