PANAJI: Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) president Manoj Parab has made it clear that his party will not enter into any unconditional alliances in the next elections, asserting that RGP will continue its uncompromising stance against what he termed as “rogue migrants.”
Parab said that defeating the BJP alone would not define RGP’s political mission — tackling the issue of unchecked migration and protecting Goan identity would be equally central to its agenda.
Reflecting on changing social dynamics, Parab noted that earlier, labourers from outside Goa would work temporarily and return home, and locals never treated them with disdain or used terms like “Ghati” offensively.
“It’s only after outsiders began taking over local businesses and getting involved in crimes and illegalities that Goans started feeling threatened,” he said, adding that the word “Ghati” itself was not derogatory but had become sensitive over time.
He further alleged that certain migrants, who once claimed to be poor, had amassed wealth by exploiting others and establishing slums that eventually turned into lavish homes. “This cycle of growth at the cost of Goa’s fabric is continuing,” Parab remarked.
Commenting on political alliances, Parab blamed all major parties for encouraging large-scale migration into Goa. “If any party wants to ally with us to oust the BJP, it must align with the Pogo ideology. Without that, there will be no alliance,” he declared.
