PONDA: Police have registered a case against Sohail Khan, a resident of Curti-Ponda, for rash and negligent driving that caused injuries to three persons, including two minors, at Prabhunagar, Ponda.
According to the complaint filed by Head Constable Ramdas Gawas of Ponda Police Station, the incident occurred on October 21, 2025, at around 8:30 p.m. Khan, who was riding an Activa scooter without a valid driving licence, was proceeding from Bethoda towards Ponda when he allegedly drove in a rash manner and collided with an Ola scooter.
The impact caused the Ola scooter rider, identified as Deepak Kurade of Bethoda, and his two minor sons to fall on the road, sustaining grievous injuries.
Ponda Police have registered an offence under Sections 281, 125(a), and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Further investigation is being conducted by Head Constable Ramdas Gawas.
