PANAJI: With COVID cases on the rise, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today has appealed to citizens to take precautionary measures while urging citizens to get vaccinated.
“With rising cases, I urge all citizens to get vaccinated and follow all COVID appropriate behaviour. Also, those left for precautionary dose,” said Sawant.
He further, however, refused to give any information on the compulsion to mask in the state.
Chief minister Pramod Sawant appealed to all the eligible beneficiaries to avail of the opportunity and got themselves vaccinated.
State immunisation officer Dr Rajendra Borkar said that many of those who have completed nine months since receiving the second dose are eligible, but that till now, only 54,000 have taken the precautionary dose.
Among the 1.8 lakh due for the free booster shot are healthcare workers, frontline workers and people above the age of 60.
The government will conduct ‘Tika Utsav
on June 5 at various centres across the state.
